The researchers from NAOC further studied the atomic-to-molecuar gas conversion across multi-scale and multi-wavelength, by utilizing public HI, CO, and optical IFU data from the MaNGA survey together with new FAST HI observations. The main results suggest that gas conversion is efficient in regions of high metallicity and density, which highlight the complexity of galaxy baryon cycle and the vital importance of cold gas regulation.

The origin of energetic charged particles in universe remains an unresolved issue. One of the promising mechanism contributions is stochastic acceleration. Here the authors demonstrate electron stochastic acceleration of kinetic turbulence in a lab setting, the result of which has just been published on Nature Communications.
